I think we can all agree that garlic bread is the best thing in the world. Well, have you tried making garlic bread using the wool roll method? This garlic bread is the perfect snack. It's savory, it's cheesy and best of all it's garlicky.
Prep-time: 10-15 minutes
Baking time: 35-45 minutes
Servings: 7 garlic rolls
INGREDIENTS
675g strong bread flour
5g sugar
7g instant dry yeast
3 tbsp oil
440ml water (add more if needed)
10g salt
1/2 tsp parsley
Dash of oregano
Filling
1/2 cup plant butter
1-2 garlic cloves (minced)
1/2 tsp parsley
1 tbsp fresh parsley (finely chopped)
dash of oregano
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
100g vegan cheese (small cubes)
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Add flour, sugar, and yeast to a large mixing bowl. Give it a quick whisk to make sure everything is fully mixed.
2. Add the remaining ingredients and mix at medium speed for 10 mins. Let the dough prove for 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.
3. Divide the dough into 7 pieces, and roll it out so it's got the same-ish size/shape as a piece of naan bread. Cut thin lines with a knife or a bread scraper (see video). Add the filling and close it. Once it's closed start rolling it up gently.
4. Add the rolls to a greased tin or casserole of your choice, and let it prove again until it has doubled in size.
6. Bake the bread at 190°C for 35-45 mins. When it's done baking, drizzle garlic butter and flaky sea salt on top and enjoy.
