Is it easy to make whipped tofu?

Making whipped tofu is extremely easy, all you need to do is add silken tofu to either a blender, stick blender or food processor and blend until completely smooth. You can also use a hand whisk, if you don't have any equipment you can do it old-school style, whisking manually.

Tofu FAQ

How long does whipped tofu last?

Whipped tofu can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4-5 days. To maintain its freshness and texture, make sure the container is sealed tightly, and avoid any excess moisture. If the tofu starts to separate or develops an off smell, it's best to discard it. For the best flavor and consistency, try to consume it within the first few days.

Can you use firm tofu instead of soft tofu?

You can use firm tofu instead of soft tofu, but it will taste a bit different, and the consistency will also change. I recommend using silken tofu if it's available, but I understand that it might not be easy to find for everyone.

Is smooth tofu the same as silken tofu?

Yes, smooth tofu and silken tofu refer to the same type of tofu. Silken tofu is known for its smooth, creamy texture, which is different from the more traditional firm or extra-firm tofu that has a denser, more sponge-like texture. Silken tofu is often used in recipes that require blending or a soft consistency, such as in desserts, smoothies, or soups. It is available in different levels of firmness, but even the "firm" version of silken tofu remains much softer than regular firm tofu.

1 lemon

a handful dill

a handful cress (optional)

  2. Cut a few slices of your favorite sourdough bread, toast them, and place them on a plate.

  3. Next, pipe the tofu onto the toast (as shown in the video), then top with lemon zest, nutritional yeast, grated frozen tomato, dill, cress, spring onions, and chopped chilies. I also highly recommend adding chili sauce on top, it makes it even better!
